Novembre, month of the Social and Solidarity Economy

| 27.11.2016 | Crédit Agricole S.A.

The social and solidarity economy (SSE) refers to the activity of structures pursuing a public-interest objective, such as organisations or businesses looking to combine solidarity, economic performance and social usefulness.

For SSE month, over 2,000 events were organised across France giving people the chance to find out more about the initiatives of these players.

Crédit Agricole, a partner of the social and solidarity company, Babyloan

Babyloan is a website where anyone can lend small amounts of money to micro-entrepreneurs around the world.

The micro-entrepreneurs in question are unable to access the conventional banking system owing to their precarious situations. Microcredit helps them to access the financial resources necessary for developing an activity that ensures their livelihood, be it by restocking their shops or buying cattle or equipment.

The aim is to strengthen their autonomy by reducing the recourse to state aid and by limiting exclusion.

Crédit Agricole S.A. has partnered Babyloan since 2012 through support for its national campaigns and crowdfunding challenges launched with employees.

A total of 131 micro-entrepreneurs in 15 countries have received funding, worth some €53,630.
